Meet The Leading Ladies

Below are the Leading Ladies of LLC's Executive Board. Each board member will be the advisor of their specific major. The LLC executive board members are required to have a working network of women from whom they can contact for special events that LLC will be hosting. Below are the women that will be representing the following majors for the upcoming Academic year of 2013-2014.

Winnie Monu

LLC STEM Major Representative: Chemical Engineering
Major in Chemical Engineering
Sophomore at the University of Maryland, CP

Winnie Monu is from Potomac, Maryland. She is involved in the Black Engineering Society at the University of Maryland. Currently, Monu serves on the Student Judiciary Council and recently became an Orientation Advisor. She is a writer, a survivor and a delegate for change. Monu is one who chooses to lead rather than to follow.

Fun Fact: " I love to travel and cook. I spent a month in South Africa last summer and attended the World Cup. "

Izabelle Mendez

LLC STEM Major Representative: Biology
Major in General Biology
Junior at the University of Maryland, CP

Izabelle Mendez is from Brooklyn, New York and and is of Hispanic decent. She is pursuing a career in anesthesiology and enjoys working with children.

Fun fact: "I am trying to launch and create my own clothing line for Christians. "

Krystal Yhap

LLC Environmental Science & Technology Representative
Major in Environmental Science
Junior at the University of Maryland, CP

Krystal Yhap is currently a Junior at the University of Maryland and she is an Environmental science and technology major with a concentration in ecological design and a sustainability minor. She completed and earned a citation in the environment, science and technology scholars program at UMD.Yhap is the chairman of LLC's community service committee.

Fun Fact: " I am also apart of the Black Engineer Society. I am a representative for both STEM majors and the school or Agriculture and Natural Sciences."

Jennifer Ukegbu

LLC Business Representative: Accounting
LLC Treasurer
Major in Accounting
Senior at the University of Maryland, CP

Jennifer Ukegbu was born in Lagos, Nigeria and came to America in 1996 with her parents. At the University of Maryland, College Park, she has participated in campus activities such as Turtle Camp and Peer Leadership council.

Ukegbu has a deep interest in pursuing studies in Accounting and would like to achieve her vision of becoming a knowledgeable business lawyer. Additionally, she would like to perform community service in the Middle East helping build orphanages and teaching women entrepreneurship.

Fun Fact: "I have been in Paris, France and Frankfort, Germany for more than 6 hours but I did not leave the airport vicinity. "
